Year 6 Transition

Welcome to the TASB Transition page, where you can access resources and information about the transition from primary school.

Each week a new edition of the Transition newsletter will be added, covering a range of topics –  from friendship and extra-curricular activities to uniform and homework.

We have also created a booklet for our SEND students that you can download, with lots of information about the teaching staff and the SEND and ASD bases. SEND Transition Booklet

We would like to introduce you to our school, and Mr Warnes and some of our students made the video below to give you a quick tour. We hope that soon you will be able to come and see for yourself, but we hope the video helps you in the meantime.

Q&A for Year 6 Parents & Students

We have lots of exciting things planned to ensure that the transition from primary school goes smoothly, and the children feel happy and confident about their next steps. The first of these will be a Q&A session for Year 6 students and parents to ask our Year 7 students and transition team any questions they have. Please submit your questions via the link below! Once we’ve gathered a range of questions, we will set up an event, hosted by our students, where we answer each question and give you all of the information you need before your child starts with us in September.

We will publish a newsletter each week, giving additional information about an aspect of life at Trinity Academy Sowerby Bridge. The newsletter will be available in this section and will be sent directly to parents via email. (If you are not receiving the newsletters, please email so we can check your details.)

Hear from one of our Year 7 students, Harry, who talks all about his transition to secondary school, why he enjoys TASB & more.

If your child is joining us as a Year 7 student, this video is a great introduction to our school.

In this video you will hear from Mr Bowmer, one of our English teachers, who talks about English at TASB in Year 7 and all the new books you will be studying.
